STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

"I am an adult student and have been taking lessons with Julia for over 10 years. I took lessons as a child and then again as an adult with other teachers and I can honestly say that Julia is the best teacher I have had. She is patient and understanding while also gently pushing me each lesson to go a bit farther. She is exacting in her hearing, catching the tiniest of mistakes in tempo or notes but at the same time emphasizes expression over perfection. I can highly recommend Julia for both children and adults."

~ Katie Stokel, West Windsor, NJ

"Julia has been my teacher for over 10 years. She has been especially adept at breaking down challenging
passages into easier parts and showing me techniques to deal with them. She has also been guiding me
with what to me seems like a good balance of mechanics and musicality. Her teaching approach and
methodologies are rigorous but encouraging and positive at the same time. Overall, I have been very happy with her."
~ Peter Ligeti, West Windsor, NJ

"Ms. Julia is a very gentle and skillful teacher. Sophia has been learning with Ms. Julia for 3 years and she has truly enjoyed playing piano. For Sophia, she won't be aiming to be a professional pianist and our goal is for her to enjoy the music and love to play the music. Ms. Julia is a perfect teacher for this purpose."

~ Lily Chen, West Windsor, NJ

"I have had weekly lessons with Julia since elementary school. and she has been incredibly patient and compassionate for all eleven years I’ve been with her. I have learned a variety of technical skills from her to help me tackle pieces with advanced rhythms, notes, and tempo changes. Julia also often uses metaphors to describe a passage, which was especially helpful for me to express the abstract “feeling” or “touch” that a piece requires. As someone who has grown up learning from her, I highly recommend her class."

~ Vivien Huang, West Windsor, NJ
